As part of Cork International Choral Festival Sunday 1st May, 6.05am Church of St. Anne (Shandon Bells) Admission: FREE* Shandon Bells will once again host a dawn chorus this May Day, with Cork Chamber Choir welcoming the first day of summer in our Shandon Sunrise event. At 06.05am sunrise on Sunday 1st May, the dawn will be met with a chorus of voices singing from the bell tower of the iconic Church of St. Anne, Shandon and followed by an ecumenical service. This unique performance has become a much loved annual event and marks the ancient celebration of the first day of summer. Those interested in attending are advised to arrive at 5.50am. * Please note that due to space constraints, the public will not be admitted to the bell tower itself. However, the performance will be enjoyed on the steps of the church as the sun rises as well as in the church for the service that follows.
